The
backhoe loader is the most common variation of the classic
farm tractor. A backhoe loader is a piece of excavating
equipment consisting of a digging bucket on the end
of an articulated arm, also called a stick or dipper.
Modern backhoe loaders are powered by hydraulics. It
gets its name because backhoe loader is typically mounted
on the back of a tractor or front loader.
A backhoe loader is perfect for a reliable machine that
can fulfill a variety of roles on the jobsite . The
backhoe loader is able to move, load and dump dirt or
gravel, and with multiple attachments and bucket sizes,
it can also grade, spread, pick and sweep. The backhoe
loader arm's main is digging. Trenches, foundations
or pools, a backhoe loader can dig them all. However,
with the hydraulic tool circuit of backhoe loader, you
can also attach augers, compacters and breakers to the
arm. If you do major landscape, earthmoving, or construction
work, a backhoe loader is a must. A backhoe loader can
be used for a wide variety of tasks: construction, small
demolitions, light transportation of building materials,
powering building equipment, digging holes, breaking
asphalt.
Development of Backhoe Loader
Over the years, the backhoe loader has been steady,
faithful machines in the construction industry. Backhoe
loaders have been evolved and improved over the years
and the manufacturers continue to improve their products
to meet the needs of consumers as well as to give consumers
featuers and utilities of backhoe loaders not thought
of before. Over the years, the specifications of the
backhoe loader have increased making them able to reach
higher, dig deeper and to have a greater range of motion.
Also, more and more companies have made four-wheel drive
on their backhoe loader standard, with two-wheel drives
slowly becoming obsolete.
Manufacturers of backhoe loader have also focused on
operator comfort. The industry of the backhoe loader
is seeing an increase in fully enclosed cabs, air conditioners,
higher quality seating and convenient controls. New
Holland spearheaded another important change to the
backhoe loader by improving the performance of the valve.
“The backhoe loader was born of the need for multiple
functions from one machine,” says Case marketing manager
Rusty Schaefer. “That need is higher than ever today
and manufacturers will continue to increase attachment
versatility of backhoe loader.”
Whereas enclosed cabs were an option on some models
10 years ago, several of the new series backhoe loader
machines introduced in recent months have cabs with
climate-controlled HVAC systems as standard equipment.
Today’s backhoe loader machines also have larger work
areas for the operator, more adjustable and comfortable
seats and controls, and safer ingress and egress. Market
leaders of backhoe loader have also invested heavily
in smooth, easy-to-operate joystick controls, and dampers
that remove the jarring impact from quick stops in the
swing cycle and buckets curling to their maximum positions.
